Summary, etc. Abstract

This descriptive-comparative-correlational research determined the leisure motivation and psychological well-being of PES teachers in a school's district in the Schools Division of Antique for SY-2024-2025 as input for an intervention program. The Leisure Motivation Scale (Beard & Ragheb, 1993) and the Psychological Well-Being Scale (Ryff & Keyes, 1995) were adopted to gather data for this study.

Statistical tools used were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation for descriptive analysis and t-test for Independent Samples, ANOVA, LSD and Pearson's r for inferential analysis. Significance level for all inferential data was set at 0.05 alpha.

The study found out that the respondents' leisure motivation in terms of competence, intellectual and social aspects and stimulus avoidance as an entire group and as to the variables considered was "very high".

The respondents' PSWB in terms of autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations, purpose in life and self-acceptance when they are taken as an entire group and as to variables considered was "good".

Significant differences existed in the respondents' leisure motivation in terms of intellectual aspect as to age, but none in other dimensions and variables considered.

Significant differences were found to exist in the respondents' psychological well-being in terms of autonomy as to civil status, and in terms of environmental mastery as to position, but none in other dimensions and variables considered.

Positive significant relationship existed between leisure motivation and psychological well-being in terms of competence and purpose in life, as well as in terms of stimulus avoidance and environmental mastery and positive relations, but no significant relationship existed between these constructs in terms of the other identified dimensions.

Teachers in public elementary schools have a strong and persistent drive to engage in recreational activities and they also consider themselves mentally and emotionally healthy.

Keywords: Leisure motivation, psychological well-being, intervention program
