Teachers use strategies like real-life connections, manipulative materials, and problem solving to foster conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills when solving a mathematical foundation. This study examined the number sense performance of Grade 3 pupils in the District of Tobias Fornier, randomly selected using the fish bowl technique. Descriptive-assessment was employed as the research design of this study. Validated questionnaires and clearance assessment tools were used as data gathering instruments. Findings of the study revealed that the number sense performance of the pupils is established when taken as an entire group, there is a significant difference in the number sense performance of pupils when categorized as to male and female and location. The strategies used in the schools with relatively higher number sense performance of the pupils are relate the content and activities to real-life situations, use manipulative materials and real objects in teaching concepts, conduct remedial activities every day, use peer tutorial as a strategy in strengthening learning and employ discovery learning in introducing new concepts. The proposed intervention strategy to improve the number sense performance of the pupils is AP's and B's Strategy Enhancing Based on the findings, the researchers offered the following recommendations: The division key officials may come up and provide instructional materials and training-workshops to the teachers with regard to effective teaching strategies in number sense especially those who are teaching Mathematics and support simplified materials to improve their teaching skills and pupils' performance. The school administrators may encourage teachers who are teaching Mathematics subject to attend training-workshops regarding teaching strategies used in Mathematics to familiarize them with, they may also give technical assistance to them in planning possible interventions to improve their teaching strategy in Mathematics to address the concern regarding number sense performance. Mathematics teachers may improvise new and effective strategies in delivering Mathematics instruction to enhance pupils' number sense performance. The pupils may participate in the activities and show their capacities, needs and interests so that teachers can make an intervention and utilize appropriate and effective teaching strategies to cater their needs to strengthen their foundation in learning numbers. The parents may be aware of the performance of their children. They can teach or go to the teacher so that they will be informed on how they can help improve the performance of their children. The future researchers can conduct follow-up or similar study to strengthen the results; thus they can make this study as one of their resources.
