The assessment covered species composition, basal area, dominance, densities of trees, saplings, and seedlings, importance values, species diversity, and evenness. Microsoft Excel was used for calculating species composition and related metrics. Findings showed a biologically diverse area dominated by Swietenia mahagonii (Mahogany), an introduced species that may hinder native regeneration. Native trees like Lanete, Durarog, and Talisay showed strong natural regeneration, reflecting ecological resilience. However, the invasive Prosopis juliflora (Aroma) threatens local biodiversity. Thematic analysis of conservation efforts revealed ongoing challenges such as quarrying, deforestation, pollution, agriculture, and climate change, all contributing to erosion and habitat loss. Despite these challenges, efforts such as river clean-ups, tree planting, and flood control have had a positive impact. The long-term success depends on community involvement. strict law enforcement, and environmental education.
