Computer literarcy: : an assessment of BSCriminology 2D students of the University of Antique /

. x ,33 leaves , ABSTRACT This investigation aimed to find out the level of computer literacy of second year section D BS Criminology Student of the University of Antique f year 2009-2010. The respondents of the study were 50 second year section D BS Criminology student of the University of Antique. The research method used in this study was the descriptive method. Data were gathered with the use of questionnaire-checklist which was devised by the researchers. The statistical tools employed were frequency, percentage, and mean The findings of the study revealed that the second year Section D BS Criminology students were literate in terms in knowing what is computer is, saving data and editing document, and using computers. On the other hand some of them are less literate in terms of what program is, open file and recognizing different file type plugging in computers, composing documents, create and operating graphic files, create folders and subdirectories, create and operating graphic files, create folders and subdirectories, create and use filenames and extensions, create page set up and print selected files, copying documents, print documents, move files, copying documents, print documents, move files and delete selected files. Based on the aforementioned findings, the researchers recommended that the school add more computer subjects to the BS Criminology Curriculum and give more time to students for hands on experience and class supervision of students by the computer instructor during laboratory.
