Credit Usage, Production Efficiency and Financial Performance of Coconut-based Businesses in Anini-y, Antique /

. xvi, 163 leaves : , ABSTRACT This predictive-correlational study investigated the relationship among credit usage, production efficiency, and financial performance of 135 coconut-based businesses in Anini-y, Antique. Statistical analysis, including frequency distribution, median, inferential, and correlation analysis, were conducted using SPSS 27. This study examined how these businesses access and utilize credit, their levels of production efficiency, and financial outcomes, while also considering the role of government subsidies and demographic factors. Findings revealed that credit usage was highly utilized especially for operational needs, and that businesses exhibited high levels of production efficiency and financial performance. Despite this, credit was accessed primarily through microfinance institutions and informal lenders, with high interest rates and strict requirements posing significant challenges. Government support, though present, was found to be inconsistent and largely focused on raw material subsidies. Statistical analysis confirmed significant positive relationships among credit usage, production efficiency, and financial performance. However, there were no significant differences in these variables across demographic groups. The results underscore the importance of strategic credit use and efficient production practices in enhancing financial sustainability. The study recommends improved access to formal credit, targeted capacity-building programs, and more consistent government support to strengthen the coconut-based businesses in Anini-y, Antique. 28 cm. .

A narrative inquiry on the political governance of Iraynon-Bukidnon /

By Aba, Ronnie A.. . 67 leaves , ABSTRACT This study investigates the traditional political structure of the Iraynon Bukidnon, an Indigenous People (IP) community located in Barangay Latazon, Laua-an, Antique. Despite their is a noticeable absence of scholarly documentation on their political governance. Guided by the qualitative research design of narrative inquiry, the study specifically explored the narrative of political governance of Iraynon Bukidnon's indigenous people in Barangay Latanzo, Laua-an, Antique. Data were gathered through purposive sampling and in-depth interviews using an interview guide. Resulting revealed that the Iralnon-Bukidnon in Barangay Latanzo, Laua-an, Antique has an existing political structure that has been practiced for generations. This structure follows a hierarchical system recognized by both the current leaders and the community. From ''Amang Karpo'' to his descendants and up tp the present Indigenous People (IP) leaders, this traditional system remains intact. According to the information, those traditional system remains intact. According to the informants, those who holds positions within this political structure cannot be replaced and continue to possess power and authority: through the process of ''tubag'', the IP Leaders. Together with the Council of Elders, fulfills their roles and responsibilities in maintaining order and stability. Each leader within the Iraynon-Bukidnon political structure has distinct roles and functions in the community. They possess unique abilities that align with their responsibilities-whether as traditional medical experts, governance leaders, fate visionaries, or spirit warriors. Their roles are recognized through their capacity to serve and help the people. Making the protection of the community and preservation of order and stability their primary function. The study proposed the following recommendations: recognition of traditional leadership by the Local Government Units (LGUs) and the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), clear delineation between indigenous and barangay governance, documentation and cultural preservation, youth education and capacity-building promotion of dialogue among stakeholders, and support for the future research and policy development. This study contributes to the recognition and preservation of Indigenous political system in the Philippines.

By Amerila, Myra Joy E. . . xiv, 157 leaves , ABSTRACT This study assessed the green accounting practice of the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) in Antique and their influence on the organization's images as perceived by its employees. Specifically, it examined the extent of implementation and participation in green accounting practices, analyzed differences based on demographic variables (age, sex, service division, and employment status), and explored their relationship to the perceived organizational image. The researchers employed a descriptive-correlational research design and gathered data through a validated survey questionnaire from 40 DENR-Antique employees. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used to summarize demographic profiles, green accounting practice and measure levels of implementation, participation, and organizational images. Inferential analyses including Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis H test , and Spearman Rank-order Correlation were utilized to test group differences and variable relationships. Findings relevant that both the level of implementation (M = 4.48) and participation (M = 4.31) in green accounting were ''very High,'' while the perceived organizational image was rated ''Very Positive'' (M = 4.79). Statistical test showed no significant differences in implementation, participation, or image across demographic groups. However, significant positive correlations were found between implementation and participation (r= .787), implementation and organizational image (r=.579), and participation and organizational image (r=.693), all at p < .05. The study concludes that green accounting practices significantly contribute to shaping the organizational image of DENR-Antique. It recommends enhancing environmental awareness and participation at all levels to sustain and improve public trust and legitimacy. The findings support the application of Legitimacy Theory in public sector sustainability initiatives.

. 187 leaves , ABSTRACT This study examined the financial literacy and practices of vendors in San Jose, Antique, And how these factors contribute to their dependency on loan sharks. Despite the knows risks of failing onto debt, many vendors continue to rely on informal leaders. The study hypothesized that this reliance may be linked to their financial knowledge and management habits. Data were collected through a face-to-face (F2F) adaptive questionnaire survey across 28 barangays, using purposive sapling with 50 respondents per zone. This approach enable direct engagement with community members and provided contextually rich insights into financial behaviors. Findings revealed that vendors' financial literacy and practices did not significantly influence their dependency on loan sharks. Despite awareness of the risk and sound financial practice, vendors still turned to loan sharks, primarily due to the immediate access to funds, minimal documentation requirements, and lenient repayment terms. There results suggest that rather than focusing solely on improving financial literacy, intervention should address the root cause of loan shark dependency by offering accessible, fast formal leading options tailored to the needs of small-scale vendors.

By Abantao, Gene Rose . . 108 leaves , ABSTRACT This research examined the financial literacy, Financial Self-efficacy, locus of control, and financial behavior among the municipal employees of Valderama, Antique. recognizing the growing importance of financial capability n public sector productivity, this study sought t assess whether these three psychological and cognitive factor relate to employees' financial habits. A descriptive-correlational design was used, involving 205 participants selected through stratified random sampling. The data were collected using a structured, validated questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and Spearman's Rho correlation. Results revealed that municipal employees had a very high level of financial literacy and locus of control and a high level of financial self-efficacy, with an overall very positive financial behavior. Significant difference were observed across several demographic variable, such as sex, employment status, age, and salary range. Most importantly, the study found significant and positive correlations among all four variables, indicating that employees who are more financially literate, confident, and in control tend to display better financial behavior. These findings support implementing holistic, needs-based financial education and empowerment program for local government employees.
