. xvii, 97leaves , ABSTRACT This study was descriptive research which aimed to determine the perception of the residents of Poblacion, San Remigio, Antique on crime due to property. It further aimed to ascertain the significant among the variables. The respondents of the study were 150 residents of Poblacion, San Remigio, Antique selected at simple random sampling. The researchers' made questionnaire was duly validated and reliability tested with a Cronbach's Alpha of .95 for the whole 20 items. The questionnaire used to gather data in order to find out the perceptions of the residents due to poverty. The data showed significant Kolmogorov-Smirnov result showing non normal data. The frequency, percentage, mean, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis Test were used statistical tools. The significant level was set at .05. All statistical computations were processed through International Business Machines Statistics Package for Social Sciences(SPSS) software version 21. The findings of the study reveled that as a whole and when grouped as to sex , age, educational attainment, occupation and family monthly income, the respondents perceived low crimes against poverty, against person, against national security and low sexual offenses. However, the respondents with family monthly income, the respondents perceive low crime against poverty, against person, against national security and low sexual offenses. However, the respondents with family monthly income of above Php 10,000 they perceived high crimes against poverty. No significant difference existed when respondents were grouped as to sex, occupation and family monthly income on crimes against property national security and sexual offenses. Moreover, no significant difference existed when respondents were grouped and in educational attainment on crime against property, crimes against person, and sexual offenses. However, significant difference existed on crimes against national security. post hoe result revealed significant difference existed on comparing elementary versus college level on elementary graduate versus college
