Rita Academy library was established in 1993. This is a Catholic school located in the municipality of Sibalom, Antique. The said library is managed by Sister Elnora Perez, the principal of the school and is maintained by the librarian. The library has a wide variety of books and it was categorized according to story books, fiction, non- fiction, general references, social science, religious books, teacher reference books, Reader's Digest magazine, newspaper, and big books for classroom use. Based on the interview that the researchers have conducted, the school uses a manual library system process. With the inherent increase of books it is difficult to keep track of book records and it is especially hard to find out how many books were lost by the borrowers. There is no security in using a log book for the recording of books information and inventory of books, that's why there are cases prone to tampering. Many papers are wasted for the recording of the borrower's information and for summarizing of reports. There are possibilities that any material references for recording will be misplaced or lost by the librarian. There is data redundancy for the recording and there are times when the librarian failed to record in the log book such as date borrowed and the deadline of the returned books. In connection with their problem, the researchers have come up with proposing the computerized library system with barcode technology. This implementation will help to lessen the work load of the librarian and it will increase the rendering services of the librarian to the borrowers. It can manage the information stored in the database and allow the user to view and update it from time to time. The system can generate reports of the transactions in the library. It is recommended that the school provide a computer wherein the proponents can install the system. The head of the school which is the principal will lead to organize in operating the system. The researchers will conduct the seminars and trainings to the person who will operate the system and a user manual will be provided| Item type | Current location | Home library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds |
