520 _aAbstract This descriptive study aimed to find out the vocabulary level of grade 11 seniors. This was conducted last September to October 2021 to 209 Grade students of Miagao National High School of the school year 2021-2022. The data were gathered through three questionnaires and three vocabulary tests. The researcher formulated questionnaires using the unfamiliar words and text from the fourth quarter core subjects taught in the second semester. The vocabulary level of students in core subjects was determined in terms of using context clues, structural analysis, and dictionaries, as well as the strand, utilization of vocabulary learning strategies, and adaptation to a modular approach. These items underwent reliability and validity processes. The descriptive statistics used in this study were mean, rank and standard deviation. The inferential statistics employed were the ANOVA Test at 0.05 alpha level to determine the significance and Post Hoc for the multiple comparison of variables which show significance. Results of the study indicated that students' vocabulary level was high in utilizing context clues, but this competency varied by strand. It showed that there was a significant difference between the ABM strand and Industrial Art strand with the significance of .046. In addition, students utilized a variety of additional vocabulary learning strategies. Nonetheless, the students' vocabulary levels are average in using dictionaries and structural analysis, but their categories did not differ significantly. Searching on the internet, using a new word in a sentence and spelling the words in their head were the top three additional strategies uncovered by this research. The workbook for vocabulary development was suggested by the researcher as this study was intended to serve as the basis for proposed instructional materials.
