520			_aAbstract Taking care of our planet is a shared responsibility of each individual most especially of the young generation. This descriptive- correlational study aimed to determine the level of awareness and mitigation practices on climate change issues among senior high school (SHS) students of a laboratory high school as a basis for development of information, education. and communication (IEC) materials. One- hundred ten randomly selected (110) SHS students were the respondents of the study who answered two (2) adopted research instruments: the Climate Change Knowledge Test (CCKT) and Climate Change Mitigation Practices Instrument. Results revealed that students are very aware in terms of their level of awareness on climate change issues and their mitigation practices are considered highly favorable. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the level of awareness among SHS students when grouped as to sex, grade level, strand, family monthly income, and exposure to media. The same results were revealed in the mitigation practices, however, a significant difference existed when the students are grouped as to exposure to media showing that those students with higher media exposure have more favorable practices than those who have less media exposure. An infographic, brochure, and booklet were the IEC materials developed to further strengthen the knowledge and practices of students. It is concluded that students have substantial and commendable level of knowledge and understanding concerning climate change issues and are actively engaging in a range of actions and behaviors aimed at reducing the impacts of such phenomenon. The researcher recommends that students' knowledge and practices should be strengthened further and the developed materials may be utilized to achieve such goal.
